Patient Testimonials

“I would like to thank you for changing my life. I give God the credit, but he used your hands and mind to do his work. When I met you, I was 42 years old and not aging very gracefully. I mace in for some restylane and was very happy with the results. You helped make a scar less noticeable and give my face a more youthful appearance….”

Dermaplaning & DermaPeel

Dermaplaning is also called Epidermal Leveling or Blading and it is a very safe and effective alternative to chemical and manual exfoliation. It removes the most outer layers of dead skin cells leaving the skin immediately smooth, supple and vibrant. Dermaplaning (blading) is another non-traumatic method of skin rejuvenation.

How is this treatment performed?

The treatment is safely performed by using a sterile surgical blade held against the skin at a 45 degree angle and stroked along the skin, just like shaving while holding the area of skin taut.
There is no more risk to the skin than when a man shaves his face.

What areas of the skin can be treated?

Blading the skin is performed on the face (excluding eyelids) and neck only. We do not blade chest or other body parts. It can be performed every 3 – 4 weeks. Blading the skin actually removes about 2-3 weeks’ worth of dead skin cells. We want the skin to complete its normal skin cycle of approximately 30 days and we don’t recommend treating the skin more often than that.

What skin types/conditions can be treated?

All skin types can benefit from dermaplaning or blading, however, we don’t recommend this treatment for those suffering from acne and an overproduction of the sebaceous glands. Theoil from the sebaceous gland need to travel up and connect with the vellous hair. Vellous hair does not have oil/sebaceous glands. If the hair is removed, then the oils tend to stay below where they are prone to mix with bacterial colonies, ultimately stimulating more acne.

What is DemaPeel?

Dermaplaning performed in conjunction with a dermal peel is called DermaPeel.
We use non-traumatic acid peels, such as glycolic and lactic acid peel that are made without harsh chemicals that might induce a burn effect on the skin. They are loaded with antioxidants and nutrients. After doing DermaPeel you may experience some superficial peeling. But the idea is not to over-exfoliate the skin. We just want to assist in the skin’s natural exfoliation process.
