Ultherapy (Ulthera)

The closest thing to a FACELIFT you can get in an HOUR with NO DOWNTIME!!!

  1. Sound waves lift, tighten and firm the face and neck.
  2. Superb improvement for those brow/upper eyelid and under chin problem areas.
  3. Natural results from even one treatment.

The beauty of Ultherapy ‘uplifting ultrasound’ is that it is a face and neck treatment that improves skin laxity in a meaningful way but completely non–surgically.
Only one treatment triggers the body’s own regenerative process of building new collagen to lift and tighten the skin — without surgery, downtime and from the inside out.
Ulthera is a new skin-tightening device that we are offering here at the Body Focus. The treatment, known as Ultherapy, can tighten and lift loose skin and sagging tissues, creating a more youthful appearance. There are no surgical incisions and the procedure is very tolerable.

You may be a candidate for Ultherapy if you have a loss of skin elasticity. This can occur on the neck, eyelids, brow and other areas. Fortunately, these conditions are often treatable with Ulthera.

Patients appreciate that Ultherapy only requires about 30 minutes to complete. With ultrasound technology the treatment stimulates your body’s own healing response, restoring tone and elasticity to the skin and tissues.
The technician touches the Ulthera ultrasound applicator to your skin, providing a view of the underlying tissue. An image is projected onto a screen that can be viewed and acoustic sound waves are delivered deep into the skin to thermally initiate your body’s own healing mechanisms.

After application of Ulthera, your body will respond and the skin will contract slightly. Over time, collagen growth is stmulated and more skin tightening effects will appear. After this gradual process, the patient can achieve a more youthful appearance in the treated area(s).

The medical use of ultrasound energy has a proven track record dating back more than 50 years. Clinical trials have demonstrated the safety of Ultherapy.

As with other ultrasound procedures, a smooth applicator placed upon your skin projects an image onto a screen that allows your practitioner to plan where the energy will be sent. This same applicator is then used to deliver low levels of focused heat at just the right depth below the skin to achieve a positive effect, all the while leaving the surface of your skin undisturbed. Your skin’s response to the energy is to stimulate the growth of new collagen. A gradual tightening and firming occurs, resulting in a natural lift of the skin over time.

Ultherapy is the only nonsurgical skin rejuvenation procedure that can specifically target and strengthen the deep foundational layer of tissue that doctors address in surgery. The ability to treat not just the skin but its underlying support, from the inside out, helps to ensure both safe and satisfying results, with no downtime.

There can be some discomfort while the energy is being delivered, but it is temporary and a signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, and practitioners will discuss options for making the experience as pleasant as possible. Patients typically leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come.

You are able to return to your normal activities right away, and there are no special measures you need to take. Your skin may appear a bit flushed immediately after the treatment, but any redness should disappear within a few hours. It is not uncommon to experience slight swelling for a few days following the procedure or tingling/tenderness to the touch for a few days to weeks following the procedure, but these are mild and temporary in nature. There is the possibility of other less common post-procedural effects, such as temporary small areas of bruising or numbness, which your physician will review with you.
Ultrasound energy has a proven track record, with use in the field of medicine for over 50 years and clinical trials have demonstrated the safety of this latest application.

With just one treatment, the regenerative process is initiated, but the full effect will build gradually over the course of two to three months. Some patients may benefit from more than one treatment. Visible effects include a lifting and toning of loose skin. In the FDA clinical trial for instance, nine out of ten patients had a noticeable, significant lift of the brow line. This resulted in reduced skin laxity on the eyelid and a more open, youthful look to the eyes overall. Patients reported firmer, better-fitting skin in other areas of the face and neck as well. There is also an invisible result from the procedure with the creation of new collagen, which gives the skin its youthfulness.

A good candidate for Ultherapy is someone with skin that has “relaxed” to the point of looking, and often feeling, less firm. A lowered brow line or sagging skin on the eyelids, for instance, is often the first sign of “maturing” skin. While it does not duplicate the results of surgery, Ultherapy has proven to be an inviting alternative for those who are not ready for surgery.
